Meridian Manufacturing: Electric Auger

When an auger is part of a permanent grain handling system, simplicity matters. Meridian Electric Augers are designed for applications where dependable electric-powered grain transfer is needed, making them a natural fit for grain dryer systems and other fixed grain handling installations.

Built around Meridian’s proven auger design, the 872 Electric Auger combines smooth grain handling with the convenience of electric operation. Its 15 HP electric drive configuration, heavy-duty gearbox, continuous flighting, and full-length drive shaft guards make it well suited for moving grain as part of a grain drying or storage system. Designed for long-term use in dedicated applications, the 872 provides a practical solution for operations where electric power is preferred over PTO or engine-driven equipment.

FAQ

Electric augers are commonly used in grain dryer systems and other permanent grain handling installations where electrical power is readily available and grain needs to be moved regularly.

In fixed installations, an electric auger eliminates the need for a tractor to power the system. This can simplify operation and allow grain handling equipment to be integrated into a larger grain drying or storage setup.

While the 872 is mounted on a transportable frame, it is most often used in dedicated grain handling applications where the auger remains in the same general location for extended periods.
