Proper aeration plays an important role in maintaining grain and seed quality during storage. The Meridian AirMax® 360 Aeration System is designed specifically for SmoothWall Hopper Bins, providing full-circumference airflow throughout the hopper while eliminating the internal aeration screens found in many traditional systems.

Unlike conventional hopper bin aeration systems, AirMax® 360 uses a continuous air duct that surrounds the entire hopper cone and directs air toward the center of the grain mass. This design helps promote more even airflow through the stored commodity while eliminating screens that can trap grain, seed, or debris. For producers and seed growers handling multiple crops or varieties, this means less cleanout between loads and reduced risk of cross-contamination.

FAQ

Traditional aeration systems often rely on perforated screens installed inside the hopper. AirMax® 360 uses a continuous air duct around the perimeter of the hopper cone, eliminating internal screens while directing air toward the center of the grain mass.

Because there are no perforated screens inside the hopper, there are fewer places for seed to become trapped. This can simplify cleanout between varieties and help reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

Yes. The system is designed to move air through the stored grain, helping support cooling and conditioning during storage. Proper aeration can play an important role in maintaining grain quality over time.

No. While it is particularly beneficial for seed applications, AirMax® 360 can also be used for grain storage where aeration and simplified cleanout are priorities.

Aeration is worth considering whenever grain or seed will be stored for an extended period. Proper airflow can help maintain product condition, support cooling, and improve storage management throughout the year.
